If I'm not responding a lot, I'm not ignoring you I'm probably overwhelmed (usually happens in crowds) and I can't find who to focus on
The Wind-Up Goblin is not canon and is there for visual reference.

This page is still a WIP!

Gravelix is a white Goblin who is slightly shorter and skinnier than most others of his kind, emminating a slightly sickly presence. He does not carry an overly large Gobbiebag, instead settling for a satchel at his hip, and while he wears a gobbie mask as his kin does, it's been dyed a blueish black, for no other particular reason other than his own personal preferences.[Any clothing you see in-game is canonically what he's wearing, so if he's wearing a bunny suit in-game... It's a bunny suit in-character.]Unlike most goblins, due to Gravelix's history, he does not speak in the usual Gobbiespeak most of the time, which he's aware is unusual. However, in distress, anger, or when very relaxed, he has a tendency to slip back into gobbiespeak.

Gravelix was born to a nomadic gobbieflock just as any other, far far away. He wasn't the healthiest Gobbie when he was born, but he was still loved. However, over the years, he got worse and worse. His parents didn't know what to do, but they heard of a potionmaker in a far-off place called La Noscea who could cure anything. So, when Gravelix was 6 years old, they traveled far, across land and sea, to get their baby the help he needed. They arrived to La Noscea, and found their potionmaker - A woman named Hakaru Nusumi. The goblins arrived at her doorstep to present her an almost-dead goblin child, and her heart sank. The trip over here was too much to bear on the poor thing. She explained she would be able to help him, but they would have to leave him with her, because the trip back to their gobbieflock would kill him, and if he is not cured he will continue to need treatment - and there would be no way for her to treat him if he's traveling with them. Though the goblins were saddened, they understood that they had to leave their child behind - they had other children they needed to come home to, there were no potionmakers in their gobbieflock that could learn from Hakaru, and she needed to stay where she was for people needed her potions just as much as the goblin did. It was a tough decision, but if they wanted him to live, they had to make it.So, Gravelix was left in the care of Hakaru, and it was the last time he saw his parents for a very, very long time. Hakaru brewed potions and requested the aid of arcanists and mages, and with a lot of work they were able to bring Gravelix back to a healthier state - not cured of what ails him, but enough he was not on death's door anymore. Hakaru was able to make potions for him to take every day to keep him alive, and soon she started to treat him as her own child - and he grew to love her as his own mother. The two grew as close as mother and son could be, and she soon revealed that she was an Au Ra Raen who had been hiding from Dravania. As Gravelix grew older, he found that he missed having a Gobbieflock - a large group of people, who all helped eachother. He requested he be sent to learn from a local teacher in Limsa who was kind enough to teach the children to read and do math, so that he could have friends, And Hakaru agreed, but only so she can have time to travel to Ul'Dah - where it was illegal for Goblins and other Beast Tribes to enter, however he soon found that children - and their parents - can be cruel, and Ul'dah's racism did not stay just within it's walls. He was ostracized from others, he was bullied for his 'weirdo gobbiespeak', and it was on more than on occasion that a child tried to rip his gobbie mask off his face. He tried to fit in - he borrowed books from the Arcanist's guild to read every moment he could, to learn to speak like the other children, he refused to eat his favorite foods like gobbie gouda and rot-tea anymore, and he almost walked out the door without his mask on once to prove himself to the world, but he was thrown into a severe coughing fit before anyone could see him. He tried his hardest to fit in, despite being 'othered', but it was very difficult. When he came of age, he was invited to join the Arcanist's Guild, since he was visiting there so often to borrow their books. Wanting some sense of community, he agreed. And so, Gravelix studied the Arcanima, which he found he was quite good at. And, even better, they were not as cruel to him as others were. While he was studying the Arcanima, he also found that he had a fascination for ancient civilizations, such as the Nymians, and he started a small archeology group with some other Arcanists to dig around La Noscea. They didn't find much, but the Arcanist's Guild was still impressed by their findings. As he got older, he was able to go for longer periods without his treatments, and soon Hakaru encouraged him to travel to see the world, and he agreed. Growing up, he wanted to ride on a ship but was never able to, and so he got to travel on one for the first time at 23, and went on his first big mission to dig up some ancient history, or hunt through an ancient tomb full of traps... Whatever it was, he was excited! So excited, in fact, that he did not heed the Captain's warnings about harsh tides, and in one moment he was standing on deck, and the next he was falling into the seas below. He thought this was the end for him, a sad conclusion - when he saw someone jump after him. He couldn't tell who it was - someone as tall as a roegadyn but with the ears and tail of a miqo'te. Who was this stranger? He was yoinked out of the water and hauled back up the ship in safety, when he saw who it was who saved his life - And it was a strange man of an unknown race, something he had never seen before in his life. He asked the man's name, and he got an answer - Maghn Slu'tar. He also awkwardly asked what the hell race he was, which was a Hrothgar. He was fascinated, and very thankful for the man's kindness, so he decided to stick around to get know the stranger and a bit about his life - he didn't tell much, but Gravelix was still fascinated by his new voyage companion. However, people are still cruel. It wasn't long after when a drunken Hyur had walked up and started to insult him, questioning why he was here, where's his group, and making more and more threatening comments, talking about how "beasts" shouldn't be on ships... When suddenly the Hyur was grabbed and tossed across the ship like he weighed less than a stuffed bear, and Gravelix looked up to find that it was none other than Maghn Slu'Tar who saved him yet again. He was mesmerized. Maghn was kind, far kinder than most uplanders. And strong, too. And if Gravelix is going to be getting into a lot of trouble even at sea, he was going to need someone to keep him safe. So, he asked that Maghn be his bodyguard - and he was surprised when the man said yes. With a new friend and adventures ahead, Gravelix was happier than ever, and he traveled around Eorzea with Maghn Slu'tar, stopping in whatever places the two were allowed. And, soon after, they fell in love.

"Oh... But I'm tongueflapping your ears off! Tell me about yourself!"
This page is a WIP and the story isn't finished yet! Come back later!

Maghn Slu'tar
Gravelix's everything - his partner in life, in business, and in crime. He is his heartmate for life, and his best friend.
Gravelix will do anything to make sure he's okay.

Beastfolk
I am okay with prejudice/fantasy racism against Gravelix, it's a prominent part of his backstory after all! Just be careful if there's a big, blonde Hrothgar with him...
[More hooks will be added as I think of them!]

Hi! You can call me Clob (she/he/they). I'm a digital artist who likes to have fun and be silly! I've been an RPer for 14 years, but only recently have I delved into FFXIVSo, you're probably wondering about Gravelix, and why he's... The way he is.
Long story short: Gravelix is a dnd character adapted for Final Fantasy XIV. That comes with problems, as you can imagine.
I wanted to play him as close to his dnd counterpart, which is a goblin. Well... Everyone else is too tall, and Lalafell are a bit too chibi/child-like for my tastes. So, I looked at the actual goblins of FFXIV, and though they are NOT a player race... I decided to play one. Well, with some differences, due to backstory stuff.
